Hawkers Delight

Verdict
It is a hawker stall as its name says, I did not expect much on the dining environment. However, I would say that the Char Keow Teow here is the best and most authentic (with pork lark, chinese sausages, chinese chives) that I have tried so far in Perth (compare to those available in Noodle Inn, Penang Delights, Spencer Village Food Hall). They serve other signature Penangite food too such as Hokkien Mee (Prawn Noodle), Curry Noodle, Char Keow Kak (Fried Rice Cake), Chee Cheong Fan (Rice Noodle Roll with sweet sauce) and etc. My friends and I had a few dishes this visit and we were very pleased with the portion and taste. Hawkers Delight is definitely a place to go if you crave for Penang food in Perth! I guess I would go again (pretty soon, next week perhaps) for the Char Keow Teow and other delights.

Verdict
This place is not really a proper restaurant, but more like a take away stall with a few tables and chairs placed at the walkway. I ordered a beef Bibimbap (Korean mixed rice) and a Goon Mun Du (dumpling) for myself, and my friends had some chili chicken wings and rice sets (chicken or beef). I loved my Bibimbap, but the dumplings were a bit oily for me. In overall, my friends and I were satisfied with the dining. We would love to go back for another visit.

Verdict
My friend recommended me this Japanese Korean restaurant few days ago. Since it is just located 500 m away from my place, my partner and I decided to give it a try today. Charm is a fairy new restaurant (~ 6 months) cause I don't remember they were here when we first came to Perth. We ordered a Cha Jang noodle and a Katsu Udon, the serving portion was just nice but they were a bit stingy on the ingredients. I could not really taste the minced pork in the Cha Jang noodle and there were only a few pieces of chicken in the Udon.

Verdict
Before my friends and I stepped into the restaurant today, we were greeted with a long queue (Chilliz is a service restaurant). But, I have to say that the line moved fairy quick, we got our food in less than 10 minutes. I had a nasi lemak (coconut rice with curry chicken and egg), of course it is not comparable to the ones I could get back home (being a Malaysian) but it tasted good for the price I paid. It is one of the few places in Perth that serves economical hot meals.

Verdict
This place is packed with people and noisy during lunch hour. It is a place for a quick lunch but definitely not a place for you to enjoy a long chat with your friends. By saying that, other customers are actually standing beside you waiting for your seats, which makes you feel uncomfortable to stay any longer. However, for budget travelers who are bored with cold sandwiches, Taka might be an ideal place for some cheap hot food, not to
mention they provide free hot green tea too. They serve sushi, rice (with grilled teriyaki beef, chicken, fish), Japanese curry and udon.

Verdict
It is a nice cafe but the coffee I ordered today was burnt. It might be due to inexperience baristas. I would give it a second try some day but as for now, this is not a place I would recommend my friends to go to.

It is a great place to go to if you want to grab some japanese food during lunch break. They serve wide range of food from sushi, rolls, fresh sashimi to hot food like rice set (donburi) and ramen. The waiting staffs are friendly and quick with their service. My friends and I were served with water immediately after we have sat down. I would definitely go back for more.

Price: $15-30 pp

Verdict
It is a great place for you to get your families and friends together for a transitional Korean BBQ experience. They serve good range of wines and beers. However, the side dishes (kimchi, bean sprout & etc) are usually refillable without additional charges in all the Korean restaurants I have been to but it was not the case for this one. Additional $4 is requested for each refill (4 very small side dishes).
